In the spring of 2016, Fuji announced the termination of the world’s last instant packfilm production line. Since that day, we’ve been searching for "Impossible" ways to save this iconic film, just as Doc had done with the last legendary Polaroid film factory, which he rescued from closure in 2008.
Uwe Mimoun & Christiane Menardi of the KONO Manufaktur came up with the brilliant idea of simplifying the plastic cartridge and complex origami folding of traditional packfilm with an all paper cartridge and one-shot design. Their concept and early prototypes showed that such a system was indeed possible! They coined the name for the product which is now synonymous with the resurrection of peel-apart packfilm – ONE INSTANT.
Ever since SUPERSENSE’s successful Kickstarter campaign of 2018, where over 18,000 shots were sold, ONE INSTANT continues to be the only peel-apart packfilm manufactured today. Each shot is made by hand, with materials and processes developed in-house at our wonderful manufactory in the heart of Vienna, Austria.
